Australis Refinery is a member of AMEC, the national peak body for Australia's mineral exploration and mining companies. Membership keeps us close to the explorers, miners and service companies whose material we refine, and to the policy and regulatory work that shapes the industry in Queensland and nationally.
Alongside our formal accreditations, it is a sign of how we choose to operate: as an active part of the Australian resources sector, not just a supplier to it.
Proficiency testing
LBMA Proficiency Testing Scheme for Gold & Silver Assayers
Beyond our formal accreditations, the Australis Refinery laboratory takes part in the London Bullion Market Association's Proficiency Testing Scheme for gold and silver assayers. Participating laboratories assay the same reference samples, and the LBMA compares each laboratory's results against the group and the reference values.
It is an independent, international check on the accuracy of our fire assay and instrumental analysis — so when we report a purity, you know it has been benchmarked against assayers around the world, not just against ourselves.
